Raising money to house Pakistan flood victims
MIGRATION RELIEF in partnership with MUSLIM CHARITY UK
Last year Farah and I attempted K2 Basecamp, but due to factors beyond our control, including altitude sickness, we had to turn back.
This year we are going again, however with better training in place, and a longer schedule to allow for rest days. This is the worlds highest altitude and most dangerous basecamp trek due to the majority of it being on constantly changing and moving glacier, so it's no walk in the park.
We are fundraising for Migration Relief in partnership with Muslim Charity UK, to raise funds to build houses for the victims of the floods in Pakistan. Having seen the devastation first hand in October last year, it made sense to fundraise to help those we met and other families living in makeshift tents on the roadside.
Each house costs £750 to build and they are sturdy constructions with the foundations on raised ground, to avoid being washed out in case of further flooding.
Our aim is to house 20 families therefore our fundraising target is £15,000.
We have seen some of these houses first hand in Sindh last year, and can confirm the quality and safety of them. The need is huge as there are millions still homeless, having lost their homes, livelihoods and in many cases, family members too.
With your help inshaAllah, we can house some of the men, women and children in the flood affected areas of pakistan.
JazkaAllah Khair and Thank you
Matt and Farah
